Sofie Recognized as Strength and Conditioning All-American Athlete

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Senior standout Rachael Sofie (Everett, Wash.) was named a Strength and Conditioning All-American by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

The award is designed to recognize student-athletes dedication to strength training and conditioning as 207 collegiate athletes from 116 schools picked up this esteemed award. Sofie was nominated by softball's strength coach Joseph Miday.

"Rachael showed tremendous determination and drive within the weight room this past year," he said. "The winning attitude she possessed in the weight room directly translated into success on the diamond."

Over the course of her career, Sofie work in the weight room continued to show as she improved in totals in double and home runs. As a senior, she was tied for the team lead in home runs and doubles as well.
