Marshall Hosts West Virginia State Games

Herd Swimming and Diving hosts the second annual WV State Games.

Career Best Times

50 yard Freestyle: 24.66 (Western Kentucky/Fairmont State 12/3/11)

100 yard Freestyle: 53.92 (WKU/FSU & C-USA Championships 2/15/12)

200 yard Freestyle: 1:57.53 (at C-USA Championships 2/15-18)

2011-12 (Freshman): Set career highs in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle during day one of the Doug Coers Invite...tied her 100 free career time at the C-USA Championships and also set her top time for the 200 free while in Houston...part of the 400 yard freestyle relay team which put together the ninth fastest time in school history while in Houston (3:34.78)...also a member of the relay teams for the 200 medley and freestyle relay teams which put together top 20 performances.

Prior to Marshall:Hurd was Co-Captain her junior and senior years for the Orange High School swim program and racked up three Coaches Awards during her high school tenure ... was selected to the first and second All-Chargrin Valley Conference team during her freshman, sophomore and junior years ... honored as Athlete of the Week on multiple occasions in her first three years at Orange High School .. was an Ohio State qualifier and finalist in two individual events and two relays her freshman, sophomore and junior years ... was a member of the National Honor Society and OMA (Outstanding Minority Association).

Personal:Daughter of Gerald and Diane Hurd ... her mother, Diane, was a student-athlete at Capital University and her sister, Brittany, was a national champion swimmer at Kenyon College ... major is art and design.
