Xavier Tops Swimming and Diving 122-77

CINCINNATI, Ohio. – Vera Niemeyer, Sarah Kay and Sarah Schimenti took top finishes but the Marshall University swimming and diving team was unable to clinch a victory Saturday afternoon as the Herd fell to Xavier 122-77.

MU (1-1) won 3-of-11 events on the night as Niemeyer took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.51, Schimenti was first in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.20 and Kay was tops in the 100 Butterfly with a mark of 58.98 to place her at seventh all-time in the Marshall record books.

Shaving time off her previous mark from Friday night was Heather Moore, who posted a season-best time of 5:17.16 in the 500 Freestyle.
