Kay Named C-USA Swimmer of the Week
Junior picks award after grabbing three wins this past weekend

IRVING, Texas- Following a strong two-day performance, Sarah Kay has been named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week.
In less than 24 hours, Kay never finished outside the top three as she was victorious three times while also nabbing two third place finishes.
During quad-meets on both Friday and Saturday in Indianapolis, the junior swept the 200-yard butterfly for her fourth and fifth wins of the season in the event. She grabbed her third win of the two-day span on Friday in the 400 individual medley with her season-best time of 4:36.56.
The native of Cape Town, South Africa tacked on two third place finishes on Saturday in the 100 fly and 200 IM. Her time of 2:13.13 in the 200 IM was a season-best for her.
This is her second career honor. She picked up her first award in 2010 during her freshman year. Kay is also the last Thundering Herd swimmer to win a weekly award from the conference office.
Marshall (5-4) is back in action next Tuesday, Jan. 22 as it hosts Ohio for the final home meet of the season. The dual-meet begins at 5 p.m.
