NORFOLK, Va. -- Marshall University Swimming and Diving has been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Team, yet again.

The honor is awarded to teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Fall 2017 semester.

The Thundering Herd’s GPA last semester was 3.60, which was the highest mark in Conference USA for the fifth year in a row, also ranked 12th nationally.

"We are very proud of our academic accomplishments,” said head coach Bill Tramel. “The highest GPA in Conference USA and another top 12 ranking in the nation has become the norm for our teams. It's our tradition. We have smart, motivated STUDENT-athletes, and I emphasize STUDENT.”

“We perform well in the pool, but our quest for knowledge is the character trait we embrace. I invite all companies and businesses looking for talented, hard-working, dedicated, disciplined and intelligent employees. Come speak with our graduating seniors. They will be excellent additions to your team."

The Thundering Herd is back in the pool next Wednesday through Saturday (Feb. 21-24) at the Conference USA Championships in Atlanta, Ga.
