IRVING, Texas - Conference USA recently announced the Swimming and Diving All-Academic Conference Honors and the team included Marshall sophomore Sarah Kay.

Kay, a native of Cape Town, South Africa currently maintains a 4.0 grade point average as a business major. She is appearing on the all-academic team for the first time she is eligible. Kay is a previous honorary of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Academic Medal.

In the water this season, Kay has won a total of 13 victories including a perfect 8-for-8 mark in the 200-yard Butterfly. Several of her times appear in the Marshall all-time top 20 performances.

"We are very proud of this team's work in the classroom and the pool," said head coach Russell Hunt. "We preach to these ladies the importance of finding a balance between the two, and Sarah has represented the sentiment to the fullest."

The sophomore is currently in Houston, Texas competing in the 2012 C-USA Swimming and Diving Championships. Marshall sits in fifth place for the first time ever following two days of action. The event runs through Sunday.
