HUNTINGTON - The Marshall swimming and diving team is set to host the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships and Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium.

The two-day event will be divided into four sessions. The first session will be Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. followed by session two at 6:15 p.m. Saturday's sessions will be at 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The meet will feature 11 teams including, Asbury College, Berea College, Brenau University, King College, Mars Hill University, Milligan University, Notre Dame College, Union College, Warren Wilson College and Marshall University.

The meet will give Marshall a chance to showcase its athletes who will not be competing at the Conference USA Championships.

"We're really excited about the meet this weekend," said Marshall head coach Leonard Kraus. "I've been trying to get this meet set up for three years so that the girls that can't go to conference because of number limits would have a taper meet.

"We've been tapering their training and they are looking really good. I feel that the next two days will give us a lot of lifetime bests."
