Kuurto Captures the Top Spot in the Butterfly on Day Two

Kuurto Wins 100 Fly

ATHENS, Ohio - Junior swimmer Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) captured the victory and set a Ohio Aquatics Center record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.34 on the second day of the Mid-American Conference Championships. The Thundering Herd is in seventh place with a score of 228.

Erika Nilsson (Haninge, Sweden) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.67) while freshman Renee Lambert (Morrelville, Tenn.) finished fourth with a time of 1:51.02.

In the relays the 200-yard medley team (Ashley Ezell, Emily Moe, Cara Davison, Kuurto) placed fifth with a time of 1:46.54. The 800-yard freestyle team of Kuurto, Nilsson, Lambert, and Emily Edmonson placed third with a time of 7:32.16.
