HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall swimming and diving program announced the addition of Kelsey Elam on Monday.
Elam, a swimmer from Knoxville, Tenn., participated for Harden Valley Academy’s swimming and diving team during her high school tenure and was also a member of the Pilot Aquatic Club. She posted top times of 24.82 in the 50 Free and 53.94 in the 100 Free during her career.
“We are very excited to welcome Kelsey to Marshall swimming,” head coach Bill Tramel. “Just like our other incoming freshman swimmers, she too comes from a well-respected and established club team, Pilot Aquatic Club. She is a fantastic student and another team member studying nursing. In addition to her academics, Kelsey’s mid-sprint freestyle will help out on relays.”
Elam was a team captain for her high school team and has been admitted to the Marshall’s Honor College and School of Nursing. She is the sixth addition to Marshall’s swimming and diving team and joins Rachel Sleichter (Fairfax, Va.), Megan Wolons (Williamsburg, Va.), Teel Hartmann (Louisville, Ky.), Brianne Mury (Round Rock, Texas) and Mikaya Reynolds (Hixson, Tenn.).
