Marshall to Host UNC Asheville in Dual Meet
This will be the Herd's first dual meet of the 2013-14 season

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Marshall swimming and diving team will host UNC Asheville in its home opener of the 2013-14 season, Oct. 26. The Thundering Herd will compete in its first dual meet at 11 a.m. at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall last competed in the season-opening West Virginia State games, where it saw action against seven state universities in three sessions, over a period of two days. The Herd finished second in the meet with a final score of 682.0.
Freshman Teel Hartmann (Louisville, Ky.) earned the first win of her collegiate career after placing first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:38.56 at the Oct. 12 meet in Morgantown, W.Va.
Marshall posted a 5-7 record in dual meets last season. The Herd was 2-2 in dual meets at home in the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium. This will be the first meeting between Marshall and UNC Asheville.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
UNC Asheville has competed in two meets and against 12 schools, thus far in the season.
The Bulldogs faced 10 North Carolina schools in the All-North Carolina Invitational Oct. 4-5, where it finished 10th with 226 points.
UNC Asheville faced North Carolina A&T and host school Campbell in a tri-meet in Buies Creek, N.C. The Bulldogs had a split day, taking a win over the Aggies (185-66) and a loss against the Camels (165-86).
Alessandra Troncoso posted two victories against North Carolina A&T in the 100 and 200 breaststroke (1:08.41, 2:27.12), while teammate Galen Broido finished second in the backstroke (2:15.48) and 1000 freestyle (10:50.98).
The Herd will have back-to-back home weekends, as it will return to action Nov. 2 at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium to host Campbell at 10 a.m.
