HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall swimming and diving will look for its first 3-0 dual meet start since 2006-07 when it welcomes Vanderbilt to the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Thundering Herd is coming off a 188-109 win against Radford last weekend at home. Marshall’s 188 points were the most for MU in a home head-to-head dual meet since 2006 when it had 195 versus Youngstown State.
Marshall (2-0) won 12 of the 16 events against the Highlanders, including eight of the first nine to pick up its second win of the season.
On the diving board, Lauren Rone was the winner in both the one-meter and three-meter events. She broke to school record in the one-meter competition and earned Conference USA Diver of the Week honors for her performance.
Lawhorn and Preun have been steady performers for first-year head coach Bill Tramel. Each has won at least one individual race in all three events this season for Marshall.
Preun has collected the most individual wins with five. Lawhorn has four which is tied for the second most with Sarah Kay.
Vanderbilt heads to Huntington with a 0-4 record. The Southeastern Conference (SEC) member recently fell to Tulane and Western Kentucky at home last Saturday.

Vanderbilt holds the all-time series lead, 3-2. VU has taken the past three head-to-head meets with the Herd.
