HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Kate Etter has signed a National Letter of Intent with Marshall, swimming and diving coach Bill Tramel announced, Wednesday.
The Maineville, Ohio native, currently a senior at Kings High School in Kings Mill, Ohio, also swims for Brad Isham at Countryside YMCA, just outside of Cincinnati.
“I chose Marshall because I really liked the coach," Etter said. "He’s trying to build up the program. I like his passion. I liked their workouts, and I want to try training like they do.”
Etter placed 16th in the 50 Free at the 2013 Ohio High School Championships with a time of 24.61. Her career best in the 100 Free is 53.44. A three-time High School All-League Second Teamer, she was runner up at the 2012 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championships in both the 50 and 100 Free.
“Kate was the first to verbally commit to Marshall this fall," Tramel said. "She was the one that started this great class we are putting together. Kate will immediately help in the sprints and relays.”
Etter becomes the first announced signee of Marshall swimming and diving’s recruiting class of 2014.
