HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Marshall swimming and diving team will travel to Akron, Ohio, to compete in the Zippy Invitational for its last competitive action of the fall. The three-day event begins with preliminaries Friday morning. Each day will feature prelims at 9 a.m. and finals later that day.
Admission for each individual prelims session is $6, while tickets to each finals session are $8. Live streaming of will be available on GoZips.com, and results can be found on HerdZone.com at the completion of each day.

Marshall currently holds a 2-3 dual meet record and posted a second-place finish in the West Virginia State Games earlier this fall.
Senior Sarah Kay (Cape Town, South Africa) and junior Kaley Gregory (Hurricane, W.Va.) own three season-best performances for the Herd. Kay has posted the team’s fastest times in the 100 and 200 butterfly events, as well as the 200 individual medley. Gregory holds season-fastest times in the 200, 500, and 1,000 freestyle events.
Seniors Madison Lawhorn (Baltimore, Ohio) and Vera Niemeyer (Wuerselen, Germany), along with freshman Chloe Parsemain (Fos sur Mer, France), have delivered two overall team-best performances this season.

The Zippy Invitational concludes Marshall’s fall schedule. The Herd will resume competition with a dual meet against Duquesne on Jan. 18, 2014 at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium in Huntington, W.Va.
