The Marshall University women's tennis team gave senior Kristina Koprcina a fine farewell as it beat the Cincinnati Bearcats 6-1 at home.

The Thundering Herd women's tennis team downed WVU 6-1 at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.

Fall 2012: (Junior): Put together a very impressive fall while playing to a 10-4 singles record and a 9-3 doubles record... Teamed with Dana Oppinger to win two doubles championships... Won the Kitty Harrison White Draw Doubles tournament... Also claimed a B Flight Doubles championship at the UVA Fall Invitational... Won two singles matches at the ITA Atlantic Regional Qualifiers to advance to the Main Draw... Won her first match in the ITA Atlantic Regional Main Draw to progress to the round of 32... Took third place honors in the B Flight Singles bracket at the UVA Fall Invitational... Finished third in the Margie Waters Singles Flight at the W&M Tribe Invitational.

Spring 2012 (Sophomore): Accumulated an overall 7-9 record in singles with a 1-2 record on court five and a 6-7 record on court six... Played to a 13-10 record in doubles that included a 7-3 record with partner Kai Broomfield, mostly on the No. 3 court... Earned a place on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll... Helped the team reach a season-high national ranking of No. 54... Won six of her last 10 singles matches.

Fall 2011 (Sophomore): Posted an 8-6 doubles record and a 5-7 singles record for the fall... Finished with a team-best 3-1 record at the UVA Fall Invitational that was good enough for fifth place in the B Flight singles bracket... Teamed up with Ellie Ball to record a C Flight doubles championship win at the Wake Forest Invitational.

Spring 2011 (R-Freshman): Saw most of her action in doubles and played to a mark of 10-7... Was 4-1 in limited singles action, all of which came on court six... Was 9-6 in doubles with teammate Kara Kucin... Had an overall spring record of 14-8 and a 2010-11 overall record of 22-20.

Fall 2010 (R-Freshman): Played to an overall singles record of 4-8 and a doubles record of 4-4.

2009-10: Redshirted as a freshman.

Prior to Marshall: Won both the singles and doubles sectional championships in 2005 and 2007... Won the boys doubles section championship as a senior... Was the Almanac Girls Tennis MVP in 2008 and the Alamanac Boys Tennis MVP in 2009... Also lettered in soccer.

Personal: Daughter of former WVU quarterback Mike Timko and Hall-of-Fame gymnast Shari Timko... Has an older sister Jaci who played softball for Robert Morris and a younger sister Tanya who plays tennis in high school... Plans to major in journalism... Is the niece of Mary Lou Retton.
