The Thundering Herd women's tennis team began its 2012 fall season at the UVA Invitational in Charlottesville.
The Marshall University women's tennis team gave senior Kristina Koprcina a fine farewell as it beat the Cincinnati Bearcats 6-1 at home.
The Thundering Herd women's tennis team downed WVU 6-1 at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
Fall 2012 (Senior):Posted a 6-6 singles record and a 9-5 doubles record alongside partner Maria Voscekova... Finished fifth in Blue Draw Singles at the Kitty Harrison Invitational to end the fall season on a high note... Progressed to the round of 16 in singles play at the ITA Atlantic Regional... Finished second with Voscekova in the Blue Draw Doubles at the Kitty Harrison Invitational... Advanced all the way to the doubles semifinals of the ITA Atlantic Regional... Recorded her 100th career doubles win with an 8-5 quarterfinal victory over William & Mary at the ITA Atlantic Regional... Won two doubles qualifying matches at the ITA Women's All-American Championships.
Spring 2012 (Junior):Played exclusively at the No. 1 spot for Marshall in both singles and doubles throughout the spring... Posted a 10-8 record from the singles court and a 17-4 record from the doubles court... Defeated two nationally ranked opponents in doubles and was a perfect 2-0 against C-USA doubles opposition... Was ranked as high as No. 35 in the nation with partner Maria Voscekova for doubles this spring... Helped the team reach a national ranking as high as No. 54 this season... Earned a place on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll... Broke into Marshall's top-10 all-time list for doubles victories with a total of 93 that has her in eighth-place... Moved into 3rd place on Marshall's all-time list for career doubles winning percentage with a .782 mark...Voted First-Team All-Conference USA.
Fall 2011 (Junior):Put together an impressive 11-3 doubles record with teammate Maria Voscekova that included A Flight doubles championships at the Wake Forest Invitational and UNC Kitty Harrison Invitational... Defeated Texas A&M, Duke, UVA, and Minnesota's number one doubles teams during the Kitty Harrison Invitational doubles tournament... Eliminated Radford, UNC-Wilmington, UVA, and ETSU's number one doubles teams at the Wake Forest Invitational... Finished the fall with a 5-8 singles record, an 11-3 doubles mark, and a national ITA doubles ranking of 35.
Spring 2011 (Sophomore): Had a strong year for both singles and doubles, playing to a singles record of 13-8 and a doubles mark of 21-2... Was 19-1 with teammate Michaela Kissell and was the first duo in program history to go through the regular-season undefeated... Her 65 career doubles wins already ranks her 14th all-time... Owns the third-highest doubles winning percentage at Marshall (65-19/.773)... Has an overall spring record of 34-10 and had a 2010-11 overall record of 47-23... Was a 2011 NCAA Doubles Tournament participant and an All-Conference USA Third Team selection for singles... Also made the All-Conference USA Second Team for doubles.
Fall 2010 (Sophomore): Continued to excel in doubles, posting an overall record of 10-7 that brought her total doubles victories up to 44 and just nine shy of cracking the top-20 for all-time wins in program history... Was nationally ranked as high as No. 20 with Michaela Kissell in doubles... Posted a singles record of 3-6.
Spring 2010 (Freshman): Played to a singles record of 14-12, going 1-0 in first singles, 12-9 in second singles and 1-3 in third singles... Was 17-7 in doubles by going 15-7 in first doubles and 2-0 in second doubles... Finished ranked No. 44 in the country with teammate Michaela Kissell... Had a 2009-10 overall singles record of 22-17 and an amazing doubles record of 34-10... First-Team All-Conference USA (Doubles).
Fall 2009 (Freshman): Had an outstanding fall season as she posted a singles record of 8-5 which included winning the Flight C bracket at the Hokie Fall Invitational... Went an amazing 17-3 in doubles, highlighted by winning the Flight A bracket at the Hokie Invitational and the ITA Atlantic Regional (both with Kissell), to advance to the NCAA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships... Preseason ranked No. 14 with Kissell for spring doubles.
Prior to Marshall: Played club tennis for TK Pezinok from 1996-2005, and for TK Inter from 2005-2009.
Personal: Daughter of Lubomir and Dana Zaprazna... Has one older brother, Filip... Majoring in business management.
