Herd Track and Field Competes at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Eight student-athletes of the Marshall University women’s track and field team participated in the world famous Penn Relays on Thursday afternoon and evening.

Vanessa Jules recorded the lone top-10 finish of the day as she placed sixth in the high jump, despite not having her top height. Jules cleared 1.68m (5-6 feet).

Amanda Hottenstein had a 12th place finish in the shot put, while Elaine Derricott finished 22nd in the long jump and Amanda Kennedy placed 23rd in the javelin.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Brittany Carey, Hadassah Lynch, Amber Pierson and Rolanda Bruce was 52nd.

Jasia Richardson is the only member of the Thundering Herd participating tomorrow as she goes in the triple jump.
