Kissell Ousted in First Round of NCAA Singles Tournament
MU now turns its attention to doubles

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Michaela Kissell of the Marshall University Tennis Team lost her first round match of the NCAA Singles Championship on Saturday evening at Stanford and will now turn her attention to doubles action.
Kissell was eliminated from singles competition by Joann Mather of the Florida Gators in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. Mather and the Gators won the team National Championship yesterday by defeating Stanford, 4-3.
Alongside teammate Dominika Zaprazna, Kissell will try to capture a doubles national championship beginning tomorrow at Taube Family Tennis Center. MU (19-1) will face the Stanford duo of Hilary Barte and Mallory Burdette (22-6) in the round of 32. The time of the contest is still to be determined.
