Marshall to Host Kentucky, No. 51 Indiana
Herd faces winningest women's tennis coach on Sunday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women’s tennis will kickstart a stretch of eight consecutive home matches this weekend when it plays host to Kentucky and No. 51 Indiana.
The matches, set for Friday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m., respectively, will take place at the Huntington Tennis Club in Barboursville, W.Va. Live stats can be followed for each match by using the links above.
Marshall (2-1) is coming off its first loss of the season – a 4-3 decision at WVU – while Kentucky (2-0) enters the weekend having lost only two sets in two decisions.
The Wildcats roared past Morehead State (6-0) and Belmont (6-1) in their opening weekend and come into Friday on two weeks of rest. On the Herd’s opening day, Karlyn Timko, Kai Broomfield, Dana Oppinger, and Kara Kucin led Marshall to a 5-2 victory over border rival Morehead State.
Kentucky defeated Marshall 5-2 last season but owns only the one victory in the last three meetings.
For UK this season, No. 78 Nadia Ravita is 2-0 on the singles court, having breezed through her two matches on UK’s opening weekend. Ravita and doubles partner No. 117 Caitlin McGraw are 2-0 in doubles competition.
No. 51 Indiana (4-0) has posted a quartet of 7-0 victories over the first two weeks of the spring season. IU head coach Lin Loring, whose 782 all-time wins is most in women’s tennis history, will look to keep the Hoosiers undefeated.
