Tennis Set for Weekend in Minnesota

Huntington, W.Va.-- Coming off a big weekend with victories against then-No. 57 Penn State (ITA rankings) and Penn, Marshall tennis heads to Minneapolis to face Iowa State and Minnesota.
The Herd is now ranked No. 70 in the latest ITA poll, posting a 5-2 record heading into this weekend.   
Karli Timko (Houston, Pa.) led the Herd last weekend, posting a 6-3, 6-1 deciding score against Penn State, and getting a 6-3, 6-2 win against the Quakers.
 Timko and doubles partner Anna Pomyatinskaya (Sochi, Russia) lead the Herd with 6-1 singles records.
SCOUTING THE GOPHERS Minnesota (6-2) is coming off a 1-1 weekend, defeating Oregon but falling to No. 29 Oklahoma State in the Baseline Tennis Center in Minnesota. The Gophers lost the doubles point for the first time this season in the Oklahoma State loss.
The Minnesota roster includes two ITA Central Region ranked players -- junior Teresa Brichacova is slated at No. 8 and senior Natalia Pintusava rounds out the singles rankings at No. 20.  
Iowa State (6-2) defeated Florida Atlantic and Bethune-Cookman this past weekend. The Cyclones have a makeup much like the Herd, with only one senior on the roster.

The Herd travels to Bloomington, Ind., to take No. 37 Indiana on March 1 and will heads to Hamilton, Ohio to take on Miami (Ohio) on March 2.
