No. 34 Marshall Travels to Face Liberty

March 11, 2011

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The No. 34 Marshall University tennis team (11-3) is in action Saturday morning as the Thundering Herd takes on the Liberty Flames at the Hershey-Esbenshade Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 11 a.m.

The Herd will look to rebound from a 6-1 defeat at Miami (Ohio) last weekend as the Herd was not full strength and had to switch around the lineup.

Dominika Zaprazna enters the dual with the Flames still unbeaten in doubles, sporting a perfect 14-0 record. With 58 doubles victories through a season and a half, the sophomore is already 16th on the all-time doubles wins list at Marshall.

Catherine Kellner leads the way in singles as she has registered a team-high 11 victories this season. Michaela Kissell and Maria Voscekova each have tallied 10 wins, while Kara Kucin has nine.

Saturday's dual with Liberty will be the Herd's ninth road contest in its past 11 matches. MU finishes its season with six of seven matches coming at home, including five in a row starting with Winthrop on March 18th.
