Soor Earns Tennis Player of the Week Honors

IRVING, Texas - Marshall's Karolina Soor is the Conference USA Women's Tennis Player of the Week after going undefeated in both singles and doubles as the Herd downed Middle Tennessee State to run its winning streak to four matches. The wins improved her dual match records to 12-7 in singles and 13-6 in doubles.

Soor posted a win in both singles and doubles last week as the Herd downed Middle Tennessee State to run its winning streak to four matches. The senior duo of Soor and her partner Kellie Schmitt defeated the tandem of Marlene Chemin and Anna Djananova, 8-3, at the No. 1 slot to secure the doubles point. At the No. 4 singles line, Soor took down Taylor Coffey 2-6, 6-4 (10-8) to help the Herd gain the 6-1 win. Her victories helped Marshall to improve to 11-9 overall and she improved her dual match records to 12-7 in singles and 13-6 in doubles. This is Soor's first weekly honor in 2009 and the second of her career (April 15, 2008).
