NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Marshall University tennis pairing of Michaela Kissell and Dominika Zaprazna suffered their first loss of the season in the quarterfinals of the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on the campus of Yale University Friday morning.
The Herd tandem fell to the nation's fourth-ranked doubles team of Andrea Remynse and Yasmin Schnack of UCLA, 8-4.
“They are a very solid pairing,” head coach John Mercer said. “They applied constant pressure and we could not get into a rhythm.”
This was the first loss for Kissell and Zaprazna in the fall season as they posted a 9-1 record and won two tournaments (Hokie Fall Invitational, ITA Atlantic Regional).
The Herd tennis team will now prepare for the spring schedule which begins on Jan. 23, with a home match against Morehead State.
