Keith McBride enters his fifth season at Marshall University coaching the throwers. McBride brings ample amounts of experience to the staff after a very successful career as a member of the Purdue University track and field team where he was coached by John Zera.

McBride was the 2004 NCAA Runner-up in the 35 pound weight throw and the 2004 Big Ten Champion in the hammer throw. He also won first team All-Big Ten and All-American honors for his performance. In 2003, McBride was an All-American hammer thrower. He was a second team choice in 2002 and 2003 for the All-Big Ten team. In 2002 and 2004 he was named the most improved. He earned the honor of team captain in 2004.

While at Purdue, McBride was a sales and selling management major with a minor in organizational leadership.

McBride is the son of Patrick and Kathleen McBride and has two brothers. Keith is married to the former Cheyenne Albert.
