Coleman joined the Marshall University coaching staff in August 2014 and will work primarily with the herd throwers and vertical jumpers.
Coleman comes to Marshall after serving two years as an assistant at Georgia State University in Atlanta. Coleman's time at Georgia State saw a dramatic change in the field events as he produced a USATF Junior National Qualifier, NCAA First Round Qualifier, and saw thirteen school records fall, all while on the way to a runner up finish at the SunBelt Conference Championship.
Coleman is a graduate of Winthrop University where he spent four years throwing for the Eagles before joining the staff as graduate assistant coach. During his time at Winthrop, Coleman accumulated two NCAA First Round appearances, seven All Big South Conference awards, and a Conference Championship in the shot put. After completing his eligibility Coleman aided with the operations of the team as well as helped coach the throws and jumps as he completed his Masters in Counseling and Development.
