Sutton Claims First Place in Triple Jump

Findlay, OHIO - Senior Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) won her first event of the indoor season in the triple jump, Saturday at the Oiler Open hosted by the University of Findlay.

Sutton also finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 16-09.25 feet. Sutton has now finished first in the triple jump, high jump and long jump during the indoor season for her career.

Junior Breanna Jones (Columbia, S.C.) notched two top ten finishes in the 60m hurdles and the 300m event. In the 60m hurdle she finished with a time of 8.93 and a time of 42.45 in the 300m.

In the throwing events, junior LaTricia Jones (Spartanburg, S.C.) and senior Brittany Keeney (Proctorville, Ohio) both claimed a top ten spot in separate events.

Jones finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 34-01.25 feet and Keeney also placed ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 52.01-75.

Other top ten finishes include sophomore Rolanda Bruce (East Orange, N.J.) who finished ninth in the 400m (1:03.62) and senior Quinnyana Brown (Amherst, N.Y.) placed fifth in the triple jump leaping a distance of 34-01.25 feet.
