Track and Field Begins 2013 at Kentucky Invitational|

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall University track and field will start off the new year with a trip to Lexington, Ky. for the Kentucky Invitational this Friday and Saturday at UK’s Nutter Field House.
Friday’s events for the Thundering Herd will begin at 5 p.m. with the long jump and will close with the distance medley relay at 8:30 p.m. Action will resume on Saturday at 11 a.m. and will continue until 3:20 p.m. when the 1,600m relay rounds out the competition.
In last year’s Kentucky invitational, Marshall senior Vanessa Jules tied her own school record with a 5-09.25 score in the high jump which was good enough for a fourth place finish overall. Jules also recorded a top five finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.65. Fellow senior Crystal Walker finished in seventh place in the triple jump after producing a score of 38-8.75.
