Jan. 19, 2012
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- The Marshall University track and field team will travel to Indiana University for the two-day Gladstein Invitational being held at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse this Friday and Saturday on the IU campus.
Marshall’s record-setting junior, Vanessa Jules, will be present at the event, looking to break the school record in the 600m run along with teammate Amber Pierson. Transfer junior Crystal Walker will also return to the track, as she looks to continue building upon her early season times in the long jump, triple jump, and 60m dash events. Freshmen Alanna Dawkins and Loren Dyer, who have improved with every meet this season, will also feature in several of the weekend’s competitions, and junior thrower Elizabeth Barnhart will compete in the weight throw following her hiatus from last weekend’s Kentucky Invitational.
Marshall will begin the meet with the shot put event on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and conclude with the 200m dash on Saturday at 1:20 p.m. For a complete competition list of all the athletes in their respective events, please click here.
