    BLACKSBURG, Va. - Andrea Perry (Cannelton, W.Va.) set a new school record in the pentathlon with a score of 3604. She broke the previous record of 3331 which she set in 2002.

    Perry, a senior, placed 1st in the 60-meter hurdles (8.92), 2nd in the 800-meter run(2:23.83), 2nd in the long jump (5.56m), 3rd in the high jump (1.56m) and 4th in the Shot Put (9.53m) on her way to setting the new record.

    In field events senior Shani Brown (Chicago, Ill.) placed 2nd in the weight throw with a distance of 17.35m, and senior Amanda Halsey (Dunkirk, Ohio) placed 7th in the weight throw (14.13m).

    Senior Sarah Corley (Fairmont, W.Va.) placed 7th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:12.64.

    The Marshall track team will next be in action on January 31 when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to participate in the Ohio State Invitational.
