Track Prepares for Final Tune-Up|
Feb. 16, 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Marshall University track and field team will compete in its final meet before next weekend’s Conference USA Indoor Championships this Friday, as it heads to Ohio State University’s French Field House for the appropriately named Ohio State Tune-Up.
Friday’s events will kick-off at 5:00 p.m. with Amanda Hottenstein and Vanessa Jules in the women’s shot put, and conclude with Julia Galloway and Sammantha Stroker running in the 3000m at 8:55 p.m. later that night.
The Thundering Herd is coming off an impressive showing at last weekend’s Akron Invitational, where Jules took first place in the high jump, and fellow junior Crystal Walker placed second in the long jump. Both athletes will be paired together this time around, competing in the long jump shortly after the 5:00 p.m. start.
The meet will mark the end of the 2011-12 indoor regular season for Marshall, as the team travels to participate in the C-USA Indoor Championships at UAB next weekend. Be sure to stay tuned to Marshall’s official track and field website for updates following the conclusion of the tune-up meet.
