Marshall Track Teams Finish Fourth at Mountain State Invitational

Charleston, W.Va. - Marshall University's men's and women's track teams finished fourth in the Mountain State Classic at Charleston's Laidley Field Saturday.

West Virginia University's men won the meet with 180 points, followed by, Robert Morris (120), Eastern Kentucky (91), Marshall (77), Concord (26), Virginia Tech (18), Duquesne (13) and Kentucky (13).

The Mountianeers also won the women's meet with 137 points, followed by, Robert Morris (133), Eastern Kentucky (112), Marshall (68), Kentucky (42), Dayton (40), Concord (3).

Herd senior B.J. Epps led the men's squad by winning the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.50 seconds. Marshall's men's 4x100-meter relay squad also won their event with a season-best time of 41.50 seconds.

On the women's side, freshman April Craver finished first in the shot put with a throw of 12.34 meters and third in the discus with a toss of 35.44 meters.

Marshall's track squads will next compete in the University of Tennessee's SeaRay Relays April 13-15.
