    Sutton Sets MU Record

    ATHENS, Ohio - Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) set a new Marshall record in the triple jump Saturday on the final day of the Mid-American Conference Championships.

    Sutton jumped a distance of 40 feet 1.25 inches to set the new record and finish fifth in the event. She set the previous triple jump record of 39 feet 11.5 inches at the Jesse Owens Classic.

    Brittani Keeney (Proctorville, Ohio) and Stacie Belzer (Glassboro, N.J.) finished 13th (134-04) and 21st (124-07) in the discus event, respectively.

    The 4x100-meter relay team of Sutton, Terryn Webb (Beckley, W.Va.), Taneshia Becton (Pennsauken, N.J.) and Ashli Creal (Chicago, Ill.) placed 10th with a time of 49.56.

    The final team scores of the MAC Championships are as follows:
