IRVING, Texas – Kathleen Clark and Lauren DeHays of the Marshall University women’s track & field team have been recognized for their hard work in their sport and in the classroom, as the duo was named to the Conference USA Track & Field All-Academic Team, announced by league officials.
Clark, a junior, sports a perfect 4.0 GPA in sports marketing and was the catalyst for the Thundering Herd mid-distance team this season. The junior from Twinsburg, Ohio, posted a team best time of 2:18 in the 800 meters, along with a mile time of 5:16.58 which she ran at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
As a biological science major, DeHays holds a 3.71 GPA after completing her sophomore year. The Tipp City, Ohio, native placed ninth at the C-USA Outdoor Championship Meet in the Heptathlon. In that competition, DeHays had a second place finish in the javelin and a third place finish in the 800 meters.
DeHays was also the recipient of the C-USA Spirit of Service award, announced earlier in the year, for her volunteer work done in Honduras and Guatemala.
