Vanessa Jules has been named the MU Athlete of the Week for her school-record performances at the Oiler Open last weekend.

Jules broke her own school record in the high jump with a winning height of 5-9 ¼ - bettering her old record of 5-8 ½.

She then doubled-back in the 300-meter dash with a second place overall finish and a new school record time of 41.50.

Just a sophomore, Jules has her sights set on winning the Conference USA high jump after finishing third at the 2010 Outdoor Championships.
