Kariny Ritter joins the Marshall staff in her first season as a graduate assistant coach on the volleyball team.
Ritter comes to Huntington, W.Va., after an excellent collegiate career at University of Houston. The Brazilian native played two seasons for the Cougars and garnered numerous accolades as an outside hitter. As a senior, Ritter was named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America and first team All-Region. She was also named first team Conference USA, to the C-USA All-Tournament team, along with being named C-USA Player of the Week on three occasions. As a senior she recorded double-digit kills in 27 of 28 matches and her 4.70 kills-per-game ranked third in C-USA and was 24th in Division I.
Prior to Houston, Ritter played two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College, where she was named All-America Second Team as a sophomore and All-Region and All-Region Tournament team honors on two occasions.
