Marshall Volleyball Begins Spring Season Wednesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Marshall volleyball will begin its spring scrimmage season Wednesday. The scrimmage will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the Cam Henderson Center. Admission is free. 

Marshall returns eight letterman, led by second team All-Conference USA setter Sammie Bane (Brownstown, Ind.)  The Herd finished the 2013 season with a 16-16 record, including going 8-6 in conference play. 

Marshall lost in the second round of the C-USA Tournament to UTSA to end its season last fall.

The Herd will host in-state University of Charleston. The Golden Eagles posted a 2013 record of 22-9 with a 12-4 Mountain East record.

Marshall will play a total of four matches this spring, with the next scrimmage scheduled for April 5 at Ohio where the Herd will face the Ohio Bobcats and Wittenberg University.
