@HerdVolleyball Opened up Training Camp Tuesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall volleyball team started its 2017 campaign on Tuesday by holding its first practice of its training camp inside the Cam Henderson Center.
The Thundering Herd returns 10 student-athletes from last season, including seniors Justice Craft, Taylor Pelton and Kayla Simmons. Marshall also welcomes back junior Shelby Conley, junior Lauren Mattmuller, redshirt sophomore Jayden Jacobs, sophomore Jac'cara Walker, sophomore Madison Hill, sophomore Madelyn Cole and redshirt freshman Tiffany Isaacs
Marshall welcomes four newcomers in freshmen Addisyn Rowe, Katie Jacques, Jessa Long and sophomore Amber Weber. Weber transferred to Marshall from the University of South Florida.
The Herd boasted a 22-8 overall record a year ago and was tied for second in Conference USA with an 11-3 record. Hill was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team, C-USA All-Freshman Team and was an AVCA South Region Honorable Mention. Walker and Cole were selected to the C-USA All-Freshman team.

The Herd will start its regular season on Friday, Aug. 25 at the Austin Peay Tournament. Marshall will face Missouri and Austin Peay on Friday, while wrapping up the tournament against UMKC on Saturday.
