@HerdVolleyball to Host Open Intrasquad Scrimmage Sunday
The event is open to the public and admission is free
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall volleyball will host an intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 13 at 4 p.m., inside the Cam Henderson Center.
The scrimmage is free and open to the public. The Thundering Herd will hold a meet and greet for fans after the event.
“Our start to training camp has been outstanding,” head coach Mitch Jacobs said. “I believe our fans will enjoy an early open scrimmage this Sunday and seeing the new faces on the floor.”
The intrasquad scrimmage won’t be the only time that Herd fans can see the team before the start of the regular season. Marshall will host an open scrimmage against Eastern Kentucky on Friday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. The scrimmage will be held in the Cam Henderson Center and it is free to the public.
The Herd finished last season with a 22-8 overall record and was tied for second in Conference USA with an 11-3 record. Marshall returns 10 student-athletes from last year’s team, while welcoming four newcomers. Sophomores Madison Hill and Jac’cara Walker were recently named to the Conference USA Volleyball Preseason Team.
Marshall begins its regular season at the Austin Peay Tournament in Clarksville, Tenn. The Thundering Herd will compete against Missouri and Austin Peay on Friday, Aug. 25. MU closes out the tourney on Saturday against UMKC.
