HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Herd fans will get a first glance at the Marshall volleyball team Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Cam Henderson Center when the team plays in a Green vs. White intrasquad scrimmage.

The Thundering Herd has all of its starters returning from last year's squad that finished 22-11 and a talented host of freshmen and returnees that will lead the Herd into Conference USA.

Fourth-year head coach Mitch Jacobs has guided the Herd to three-straight 20-plus win seasons and will look to make it a fourth this year.

Marshall was picked to finish second in the C-USA preseason poll behind Rice as it heads into its inaugural campaign in the new league. The Herd's Kelly-Anne Billingy was also tabbed as the C-USA Preseason Player of the Year.

Friday's Green and White scrimmage will give fans a first-look at the new team before it heads into official action Monday night at former Mid-American Conference rival Miami (Ohio). The Herd will also be throwing out free T-shirts to the crowd throughout the scrimmage. Admission is free to all home Marshall volleyball contests.
