Bane Selected as Student-Athlete of the Week
The sophomore setter led Marshall to the Kent State Mizuno Tournament title
Sophomore setter Sammie Bane earned the Kent State Mizuno Tournament's Most Outstanding Player award this past weekend for her effort on the court. Bane helped Marshall go 4-1 during the week, while leading the Herd to the Kent State Mizuno Tournament title after winning every set of the invitational.
Bane led the the team in assists with 109 during the weekend and recorded a 12.11 assist per set average. The Brownstown, Ind. native helped Marshall engineer a team hitting percentage of .315 during the three matches as well as swing down 14.78 kills per set. She tied for second on the team in service aces and set a season-high in assists for a 3-set match with 44 against Kent State (9/8).
