HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Volleyball hits the road this weekend with matches at FIU Friday at 7 p.m. ET and UTSA Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT.
The contest versus the Panthers will serve as FIU’s “Dig Pink Night”, promoting Breast Cancer Awareness.

Marshall (6-11, 1-2 Conference USA) fell to Southern Miss last weekend by a score of 3-1 in the Cam Henderson Center. Madison Hill led the team with 18 points, 14 kills and 10 digs. Taylor Pelton added 10 kills and Madelyn Cole contributed 38 assists and Lauren Mattmuller totaled 12 digs. Shelby Conley and Kayla Simmons tallied 11 digs apiece.
The Thundering Herd leads the conference in digs per set (16.09) and is second in blocks (2.82). Individually, Jac’cara Walker leads the league in kills (4.86), while she is seventh in service aces (0.43) and 10th in digs (3.29). Cole is fifth in assists (11.29), as is Addisyn Rowe in blocks (1.2) to go with Jessa Long’s ranking of sixth in digs (3.57).
Scouting the Panthers
FIU (2-7, 1-2) split a pair of road matches last week, with a 3-1 win at Florida Atlantic, followed by a 3-0 loss at UAB. Giovannie Jean-Louis is sixth in the conference in blocks per set (1.17) and Sasha Grigoreva (0.40) is eighth in service aces.
Scouting the Roadrunners
UTSA (4-11, 2-1) also earned a split last week, with a 3-1 loss at North Texas before registering a 3-2 home win over UTEP. Brianna McCulloch is second in C-USA in kills per set (4.54), the same ranking Amanda Gonzales holds in assists (12.62). Kara Teal stands ninth in hitting percentage (.393).

Marshall will be back home next week with a Friday match versus Rice (6 p.m.) and then a Sunday afternoon showdown with Louisiana Tech (1 p.m.).
