Hill, Rowe Earn All-Conference USA, All-Freshman Honors

IRVING, Tx. -- Marshall sophomore Madison Hill and freshman Addisyn Rowe gained recognition from coaches in Conference USA as the league office revealed its all-conference and all-freshman teams Wednesday.

Hill played in 28 matches (starting 21) and was named first-team all-league after finishing the regular season with 102 sets played, 318 kills, 3.12 kills per set, 65 blocks, 369.0 points and 3.62 points per set. A preseason second-team all-conference selection, she notched a season-high seven blocks against Austin Peay on August 25 and posted a season-high 23.5 points in 3-1 win at FIU on October 6. She recorded a season-high 20 kills in the 3-1 over Louisiana Tech on October 15. Academically, she was named to the 2016-17 Conference USA Honor Roll.

Rowe, who played in all 29 regular-season matches and started 27, was named to the conference’s All-Freshman Team. She is currently tied for eighth in Conference USA (overall matches) with 1.0 blocks per set and is 10th in hitting percentage (league matches) with a clip of .330. She leads the Thundering Herd with 94 blocks and has contributed 192.5 points and a .282 hitting percentage. She had a season-high 17.5 points and 15 kills in a 3-2 win over FIU on October 20 and posted a season-high seven blocks twice, once at Charlotte (September 22) and the second time in a 3-1 win at FIU on October 6.

Marshall (11-18 overall, 6-8 C-USA) will be the eight seed in this week’s Conference USA Tournament in Bowling Green Kentucky. It faces the top-seeded North Texas Mean Green Friday at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT in first-round action. The match will be carried live on at the following link:
