Volleyball Closes Out Season Against West Virginia

HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - For the final time this season, the Marshall Volleyball team will play host to the West Virginia Mountaineers for the "Golden Ball Match" in the Cam Henderson Center on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The match will showcase Senior Night, which will celebrate the careers of two Marshall student-athletes, Cameron Yoho and Andrea Booker.

Marshall enters the match 9-21 and 8-12 in Conference USA play. West Virginia comes into the match 7-18, with a 5-19 standing in the Big East.

The contest will be the final match of the season for both teams and will be the 43rd meeting between the two programs in the all-time series. Under head coach Mitch Jacob's direction, Marshall has won the Golden Ball eight times and has collected an 8-1 record against the Mountaineers.

The Herd is led by All-C-USA selection, Abby Tomas, who has 349 kills for the season. She also has a team-high 3.17 kills per set average for the year. Cameron Yoho follows closely with 319 kills and has a 2.90 kills per set average.

All-CUSA Freshman team selection, Sammie Bane, records 1,124 assists for the season and posts a 10.22 assist per set average. She also leads the team in double-doubles with 13.

Defensively, the Herd is led by Ryanne Milligan, Laura Der and Doroty Rahal. Milligan records a team-high 620 digs, while Der has 516 digs. Rahal has earned 476 digs and leads the team in service aces with 23. Desirre Wilkerson claims the most blocks with 100, 15 of which are solo.



West Virginia is led by Michelle Kopecky with 241 kills and a 2.80 kills per set average. Abby Monson collects the most blocks with 49 and Serinna Russo claims 503 digs. West Virginia setter, Kari Post has 742 assists and a 8.53 assist per set average.
